State Rehabilitation Council

The New Mexico State Rehabilitation Council (SRC) reviews, analyzes, and advises the New Mexico Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (NMDVR), regarding all rehabilitation programs and policies administered by NMDVR.

The SRC was established under Title I, Section 105 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (as amended in 1998) and the 2014 Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). The SRC is tasked with developing and reviewing NMDVR goals and priorities, evaluating the effectiveness of the vocational rehabilitation (VR) program, conducting statewide assessments, and consulting in the development, implementation and revision of state policies and procedures related to VR activities. To achieve this goal, the SRC partners closely with NMDVR and acts as the external, community-oriented voice in the consideration and development of NMDVR policy that affects the achievement of employment outcomes for individuals with disabilities.
